  1. Welcome to Simple Label.

  3. I wrote this program because I was having trouble getting my StyleWriter to print labels.  The problem is most label programs consider each label its own page and since the StyleWriter will not print on the very top or bottom of the page you could not get a complete label.  Some programs (that did not use the above page method) would only print at ImageWriter Quality. Other High Output Quality programs would only look on a Network for a LaserWriter, since that is not where the StyleWriter lives they could not see it.  I'm sure there are several commercial label programs that will do the simple tasks that I wanted, but that would be like killing a fly with a hand-grenade.

  5. The task that I wanted to perform was to print multiple copies of the same label (for  return address labels).  That is what this program does.  If that will fill your needs this program is for you.

  9. The program is so simple that I don't think you will really need help running the program.
  10. BUT the Folder "Labels Folder" (it must be named that) needs to be at the same level (it the same folder) as the SimpleLabel Application.

  14. Version 2.0 has a much better interface than version 1.  It allows multiple windows to be open and several different styles, fonts & sizes to be on one label. (if you have version one you will know what an improvement it is).

  16. Version 2.01 is being released because the version that was released as 2.0 was the wrong one.  It was a beta that still had bugs in it. (Sorry)

  18. Version 2.1 Adds the multiple label type capability with the open label architecture. It also fixes all known bugs (including the multiple save bug). Also adds a Preferences menu item in the file menu (But it will not be implemented until the next release with the Mail Merge)

The next thing I may  add is a Mailing list feature so you can merge with a TEXT file to print a mailing list.  (I'll only do this if asked so if you want to see it let me know)  I liked writing this program and would like to add to it to make it better, but if nobody is going to use it I'll find something else to do. So if you want to see new features take heed of the notice below.

This program is absolutely free.  But, if you can get someone to pay money for a program that is free GO FOR IT!!!  Feel free to distribute SimpleLabel as long as you include this and all other files that come with it.  (If you are going to include this file in a "For Sale" PD/SW package I want to be notified first)

  29. (Even if you hated this program leave me E-Mail!! With the first release I only had 3 people actually leave me mail. The second release was a little better but still lacking compared with the number of people who downloaded it)
